NAB Stands Proud and Tall at BookExpo America 2009

While some foresee the book industry slowly morphing into a dying industry, the recent BookExpo America in New York City was anything but dead, with a lively attendance of people celebrating their love for books! BEA showcased more than 500 authors and hundreds of new titles, including North Atlantic Books’ The 27s: The Greatest Myth of Rock & Roll and its authors Eric Segalstad and Josh Hunter.

The duo certainly didn’t go unnoticed at the massive event–there was a massive line of fans eagerly waiting to meet the up-and-coming authors. The media took a liking to them as well. The Huffington Post enthusiastically recognized the graphic novel and the authors in its roundup of highlights of the BEA. “The 27s uses stylized artwork, and employs music history, maps, timelines, musical references and recommendations, mysticism, and involved essays to provide various theories on why the phenomenon of musical geniuses dying by 27 exists.” Check out the entire Huffington Post article.

But unlike Kurt Cobain and Jimi Hendrix, North Atlantic Books presence at the BEA didn’t stop at the 27s, with Ruby Roth and her bold new children’s book on vegetarianism and veganism, That’s Why We Don’t Eat Animals, received a welcoming reception amid the festivities. Another great year at Book Expo America for North Atlantic Books! We look forward to 2010!
